October and Pink-Out games are especially meaningful to me because breast cancer has touched my own family. Both my mom and my sister have faced breast cancer.
As a coach, educator, and sports mom, I love seeing our athletes, coaches, families, and entire school communities show up in pink. But I also want our young athletes to understand WHY they're wearing it.
When your school hosts a Pink-Out game, get involved. Help decorate. Volunteer. Participate in the fundraiser. Honor survivors. Remember those we've lost. Support the families who are still fighting. And most importantly, talk to your athlete about what the night represents.
Because being part of a team isn't only about what happens on the court or field. It's also about learning to show up for your community and for something bigger than yourself.
And yes... we're Coach Jenn HQ, so we're going to show up looking GOOD while we do it. 💗
